I finally have a moment to do a long overdue nursery update.  Wolfe is now 9 months old - unbelievable!  The nursery wasn't quite finished until some time after he arrived - he arrived a little sooner than I thought he would - and I've made some tweaks along the way, but I'm happy with how it turned out.  Some days I think it's a little over decorated, but I wanted it to be a fun vibrant space, and I think I achieved that?

I learnt a few things along the way of course.  Such as babies are messy!  I'm glad we splurged on white leather for the Monte Alto rocker, it's so easy to wipe down.  The lovely chevron cotton dhurrie we started out with lasted about 3 months before I realized it was just not a practical choice.  We replaced it with a striped recycled rubber rug from Magdelena New York that is virtually indestructible.  You can literally take it outside and hose it down.  Also, you'll need much more counter space and storage than you might imagine.  Babies inevitably lead to a lot of "stuff".  Lastly that although you might spend months carefully selecting each and every item for his room, not only will he not even notice, chances are he won't spend any time in there at all for the first 5 months!  Still it was a fun project!

I deliberated for ages about which crib to get but I'm really happy with the one we chose, the Ray crib by Muu.

His animal and dinosaur planters from various Etsy stores are one of my favorite things in the room, though some of the plants died and had to be replaced.

This porcelain lamp (and another in the shape of a puffer fish) made the trip from Australia with my parents safely, and they cast the most beautiful glow at night.  They are super fragile though so when he's more mobile, they might have to find a new home!

This vintage lamp is from one of my favorite stores, Casa Victoria, and I had a bright yellow shade (lined in gold!) custom made for it. 

Turns out his room will never actually be "finished".  The baby proofer just told me that cane and babies don't mix because they can potentially break pieces off and choke on them, so I'm on the hunt for a new hamper!
